In September 2023, DeSalvo's first solo show, “A Bus Tour in the Woods: Visual Duets with her Father,” took place at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts in conjunction with the exhibition, “The Day After Yesterday: Portrait of Dementia,” by photographer Joe Wallace. DeSalvo's work in this exhibition was inspired by a joyful hallucination that her father had while experiencing dementia at the end of his life.
